Reclaim your superpower.

As a kid, who was your favorite superhero/heroine?

I was obsessed with Wonder Woman. She was just, kickass. I would fly through the yard, imagining I was actually flying and run as though I had super-human speed. I felt unstoppable as I saved the world.

And let's play a bit more... think about those superpowers...

If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Invisibility? Speed? Flying? It's endless! I love when my kids and I get into this one... Perhaps it reveals what we really want to access in order to feel more empowered. We all seem to want that, right? ... to feel more sovereign, more empowered, more in control...

Yes... and how can we possibly feel that amidst the real demands of our adult lives?

“Make your mind a sanctuary. In a world that is increasingly loud and fast, cultivate a slow and quiet presence inside yourself.”

–James McCrae

So, what if this "slow and quiet presence inside yourself" that McCrae refers to is truly one of your greatest superpowers?

I feel it in myself, and hear it in clients when they rave about accessing a state of calm in job interviews, initiating a challenging conversation, setting boundaries at work and home, shifting a routine, ditching a negative habit, presenting to large audiences, even simply witnessing discomfort, and more...

As a hypnotherapist and coach, I guide you in discovering this superpower.

Just like all superpowers, this allows you to transcend your current stories and limited mindsets, while working through uncertainty and challenges with stability and confidence. By far, your greatest superpower in this loud and chaotic and intense modern existence is to access peace, to drop into peace... especially when you've been in fight/flight/freeze/fawn for most of your life.

Can you even imagine what it might be like to allow your mind to be this sweet power zone?

If not, you're in good company.

For most of us, we consider the mind as a thing to "conquer," not something that we could make into a sanctuary.

Many of us get caught up in the race to fit the dominant paradigm of "loud and fast" without imagining that we actually could cultivate a slow and quiet existence... and truly engage in BEing, all which is valid and beyond worthy in its own right.

We so often see our mind as a battlefield, and feel the resistance all through our body, the constant longing to win something over and/or to flee or defeat our internal and external challenges.

This relationship to our mind is not sustainable. It is a recipe for burnout. It is denying the wealth of 90% of your mind --the subconscious-- that truly wants to work with and for you.

It's time to allow the mind space to serve you in all the ways it is meant to:

to expand your creativity,

to heal your pain,

to anchor you in your authenticity,

to honor your body,

to lead you on a path of unexpected delight, joy, and absolute peace.

Settled into the simple now.
Settled into the simple now.

Recently, while my daughter played soccer, I chose to take a walk rather than look at my phone, rather than sit in my car and work, rather than ruminate about the day or the next thing. I chose to walk because I know it carries me into a better mental and emotional space. Nestling under trees by a waterfall and absorbing the surrounding ferns, bugs, sounds, feeling of the earth under my seat, I noticed a quiet presence in my body. Sweetly, I was struck by how connected and safe I felt in both my body and mind. No racing. No overthinking. Just really absorbing.

I was Home.

And this FEELING stretched into my memory bank exposing past moments in my life feeling this sense of ease in myself before an exam, stepping into an interview, teaching a new concept to my class, driving across country to a completely new city and what would become my new home, the trust and ease in my body and mind through pregnancy and childbirth..... (so this feeling is not only available by a waterfall in the forest).

These moments coming forward from my subconscious into my conscious awareness IS information, like stardust and glimmers of what is true and always has been for me: my home within.

I get to create it and while it may not be “easy” it can be far more effortless than I ever realized.

An essential part of this transformation is accepting that there is no finish line. When we allow this living and becoming to be one of growth and insight, we can let go of the anxiety that "we aren’t there yet" and HOW HOW HOW might we get there.

When we see the moment of getting there is this one, right here right now, we can liberate ourselves from ruminating patterns and an outward focus that equates our value to standards we had little to no say in in the first place.

Think about times you've tapped into this superpower of calm. When have you felt this soft sweet peace being with yourself, leaning into your power from a grounded and secure foundation?

You’ve had this. Maybe you can’t access it now, but you will… and you, also, will remember.

These experiences are woven into our unconscious as information to lead us positively forward. We just need to learn HOW to listen.

It is your birthright, not a luxury, to access peace and anchor into your power to face change and all the challenges that arise in this beautifully complex story of life…

Yes, we have a system set up to protect us against real danger, and that most definitely we get to employ.

BUT... as our lives have become more comfortable and secure, our day to day natural standard is not living in anxiety while glued to a screen or idea or the next task, errand, thing to check off and keep moving to check off the next thing and keep going keep consuming keep racing…

No.

No thank you.

This is home:

the magic moment of now,

the full experience.

Now.

So cozy and full and complete.

Yes.

Home.

And even when it’s not, learn to find the refuge within.

What if you could? ... (Maybe you already do.)

What if you could meet yourself, with the absolute felt sense of existing safely in your sanctuary?

In yourself--your mind and your body?

Imagine it.

Believe in it.

Feel it.

Desire it.

Expect it.

It’s already there.

Ready to receive you.

Tap into your superpower.

Learn to quiet the buzz, fuzz, and awaken the muted tone of your heart,

so you can

Finally

surrender to it.
